Betsy's Busy Summer
Published in Library Binding by William Morrow (August, 1956)
Author: Carolyn Haywood
Average review score:

A book that everyone should read!
This book was such a great book that I think everyone should read it. It was a big book but I think everyone could read it. You can bring it on trips and there are lots of books on the internet for you to get some more. The first one I've read so far is Betsy's Busy Summer and it was pretty good. That's why my daddy and I are ordering some other books of Betsy. You can too. You could also get it at a library or at your school you might be able to check it out. Try to go to places where there are lots of books and try to get Betsy's Busy Summer. Betsy's Busy Summer is good because the first chapter is pretty wierd but once you read up to the ending it is a pretty good book. Hope you read it soon!

Cne 3 Short Course
Published in Paperback by New Riders Publishing (January, 1996)
Authors: Dorothy L. Cady, Drew Haywood, and Drew Heywood
Average review score:

Great study guide, not for the new-to-networking
If you are already a "networking geek" the CNE short course is an excellent study tool for the Novell tests. It is concise and doesn't flood you with much information that is not covered on the tests. However, if you are new to networking or to NetWare products ... I would steer away from this book. The author covers most topics at a fast pace and will blow the novice away

Dark Age Naval Power: A Reassessment of Frankish and Anglo-Saxon Seafaring Activity
Published in Paperback by Anglo-Saxon Books (15 December, 1999)
Author: John Haywood
Average review score:

The origins of Germanic tribal naval power and more.
John Haywood has brought a wide range of resources together to show the development of Germanic naval power from c.200 BCE through the 9th century. While most of his emphasis is on the Saxon and Frankish pirates in the North Sea, Haywood also provides information on early Germanic ships and their evolution.

Dark Ages is extensively footnoted and indexed. Included are maps and several drawings.

Information on early Continental tribes not found elsewhere in English helps make this a valuable text to anyone interested in the history of the Saxons and the Frankish tribes as well as pre-Viking raiders and ship building.

This revision of Haywood's earlier work is by far the best and most comprehensive review of the subject I have found.

Diy Pr: The Small Business Guide to 'Free' Publicity
Published in Paperback by Batsford (August, 1998)
Authors: Penny Haywood and Panny Haywood
Average review score:

Brilliant! Down to earth, practical guidance.
At last! A practical guide to put anyone on the road to 'free' publicity.

The grass-roots approach cuts through the mysterious air (ie: 'the crap') often hanging round PR and publicity issues and beloved by practitioners desperate to play their cards close to their chest.

Penny's advice is simple, easy to follow and should guarantee results. It won't turn everybody into PR professionals as there's a bit more too it than securing media coverage, but then, that's not the aim of the book.

As well as the sound 'can't go wrong' advice, there's templates and examples that lead readers through the process of putting together news releases etc.

Altogether a brilliant guide that brings the seemingly impossible task of generating publicity well within reach of any small business or enthusiastic individual. Brilliant. And not before time.

Esthetics in Dentistry, Volume 2: Esthetic Problems of Individual Teeth, Missing Teeth, Malocclusion, Special Populations (Book with CD-ROM)
Published in Hardcover by BC Decker (November, 2001)
Authors: Ronald E. Goldstein, Van B., Dmd Haywood, and Ronald E. Goldstein
Average review score:

Great text for dentists
This book is a wonderful teaching mechanism for dentists who want to develop their fullest potential at cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Goldstein, Haywood, and their contributors do an excellent job at not only identifying the major problems but also offer practical solutions as well. I love the CDrom that is attached to the book...it has all of the photographs in the text which is so helpful. The text is organized so well that it is a marvelous reference book for most cosmetic problems that occur. Dr. Goldstein and his colleagues provide logical reasons for the treatment options provided. I find it an invaluable source in both the understanding and treating cosmetic dental problems. It is a wonderful addition to Dr. Goldstein's first volume in what I understand will be a 3 volume set....clearly the most comprehensive work ever done in cosmetic dentistry!

Fort Apache, the Bronx
Published in Paperback by Warner Books (February, 1982)
Author: Haywood Gould
Average review score:

Great book!
If you like police novels, read this one. Heywood Gould is the most underrated authors alive. His characters ring true, and his story reminds us that life is not all black and white. Gould's writing is influenced by Raymond Chandler and Dasheil Hammett. If you like this book, try Cocktail and Double Bang.

Historical Atlas of the Ancient World
Published in Hardcover by Friedman/Fairfax Publishing (August, 1901)
Authors: John Haywood, Charles Freeman, Paul Garwood, and Judith Toms
Average review score:

An excellent, readable reference
I have started reading a lot of historical fiction and nonfiction, and have found Haywood's Altas to be very useful. It works well as an introduction, being quite readable and succinct. In addition, it is an excellent reference to use when reading nonfiction tombs that presume we all know where all the Hittites came from, or how the Illyrians migrated to Italy. Just easily finding Zhou, or Thrace on a map has been a big help for me. A good atlas, well worth the reasonably price.

The Ionian Islands in the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age3000-800 Bc
Published in Hardcover by Liverpool Univ Pr (May, 1999)
Author: Christina Souyoudzoglou-Haywood
Average review score:

Comprehensive, scholarly, seminal, engaging, informative.
The Ionian Islands in the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age 3000-800 BC is a fascinating, informative, exceptionally well written presentation of the archaeological record regarding the Ionian Islands at the northwestern fringes of the Aegean world, and the factors that shaped the unique cultural identity, of their inhabitants in the Bronze and Early Iron Ages. The archaeological evidence drawn from tombs, cemeteries, settlement sites, and artifacts are treated chronologically and thematically, reconstructing a profile of each of the islands and the island region as a whole. A pattern emerges which points to alternating periods provincialism and isolation with those of vitality and openness to long distance connections. A seminal work of impeccable archaeological scholarship, The Ionian Islands is highly recommended for academic and professional reference collections regarding the prehistoric cultures of the Aegean region.
